In the market f0r a chic new addition to the abode? Consider a fashionable rug: Rodarte, Jonathan Saunders, and Paul Smith have all designed for The Rug Company, and Diane von Furstenberg has been a longtime member of this rug-designing clique. Last night, DvF debuted another of set of animal print designs at the company’s Soho showroom, including python (pictured) and leopard. “Well, I love rugs; I sit on the floor always,” she told The Daily. “For me, the rug is the most important thing in the room. I live on these rugs!”
Diane was joined by The Rug Company’s Christopher Sharp and Architectural Digest EIC Margaret Russell. “I haven’t done a lot with Diane, but I’m a longtime admirer,” Russell explained. “We did a small thing on her show that’s coming up, but I have her book, I read her first book, I wear her clothes!” DvF is pretty busy these days, to say the least. On top of designing her next collection, she has recently debuted a docuseries on E!, House Of DVF, and released a memoir entitled The Woman I Wanted to Be. “People like it,” DvF said of her friends’ reactions to her memoir. “My honesty seems to strike everybody.”
