Tone It Up’s Karena & Katrina Collaborate with Bandier

Fitness experts and co-founders of Tone It Up—the health lifestyle brand that reaches over 5 million women worldwide—Karena Dawn and Katrina Scott are launching their second activewear collection, today! We chatted with the pals to get the scoop the six-piece capsule collection, which will be sold exclusively online at Bandier and Tone It Up

Karena and Katrina, what’s new?
 So much is new! We’re on a flight now heading to New York City for the launch of our new fitness apparel line with Bandier.

Tell us about the collab.
Katrina: The pieces we designed are so great because you can mix and match to have even more styles. We included details that we personally love, like mesh and a high waistline. My favorite is the reversible capris!
Karena: The design inspiration of the fabric came from the ocean and the California beach lifestyle.

What’s it like designing together?
Katrina: We both have different fashion styles and it’s fun to combine them. A woman should feel good in her fitness apparel, and that was really important to us when we were designing.
Karena: Quality and comfort were important. We tested the fabrics, from running through the streets of NYC to hitting a hot barre class.

You both recently covered Turks & Caicos Magazine.
Katrina: We went to the islands to shoot our upcoming Bikini Series fitness challenge workouts and to film another special project. The white sand and turquoise water was the perfect setting!
Karena: Kat and I visited Turks & Caicos about six years ago. It was nice to be back and film at some of our favorite spots like Grace Bay and The Conch Shack.

Where else have you traveled to lately? 
Katrina: Each year for the Bikini Series we choose a tropical location to film. It’s really cool because the winners of the challenge get a trip to the same place. I really liked last year’s location—Playa del Carmen in Mexico.
Karena: I loved shooting in Hawaii, on Maui and Oahu. Hawaii has always held a special place in my heart. I’m actually getting married there later this year!
Workouts you’re loving right now?
Karena: We’ve really been into hot classes. It could be anything—yoga, sculpt, HIIT. It’s a nice challenge and fun to mix things up.

Food/ingredients you live by?
I love to cook dinner in the evening and stick to our Tone It Up Nutrition Plan guidelines of eating lean, clean and green. There are so many mouthwatering recipes to choose from and mix it up!
Katrina: I never go a day without a Perfect Fit smoothie or pancakes! Perfect Fit is our nutrition line that we designed with women in mind. Our protein is non-GMO, organic, dairy free, and delicious. You can use it to replace flour in recipes like pancakes, waffles, muffins, and more.

You have a new Perfect Fit Protein launching soon. Can you tell us more? 
Katrina: Think tropical beach, a colada, and climbing a palm tree. OK fine, it’s coconut!
Any tips for starting to get your body into shape for summer? 
Karena: Join us for the Bikini Series! It starts in April and leads up to summer. We have new workouts each week, nutrition tips, and more! Our members of the nutrition plan also get an eight week guide of exactly what to have for each meal. We lay everything out for you so it’s easy to get ready for summer.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Karena: Wine and cheese!
Katrina: I have a sweet tooth, so I love a little dark chocolate and red wine.
