(NEW YORK) Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most powerful stylist of them all? Leslie Fremar is the stylist du jour, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s list of the top 25 stylists in tinseltown. The list is curated and judged by red carpet impact, influence, and crème de la crème clientele. Charlize Theron, Fremar’s client, recently stunned in a white strapless Christian Dior Couture gown at the Oscars; another Fremar regular, Julianne Moore, has always been one of Hollywood’s best dressed. That’s a number-one slot well earned, non?
Fremar was, after all, Anna Wintour‘s right hand and the inspiration for the constantly stressed assistant played by Emily Blunt in The Devil Wears Prada. But Fremar played it cool in an article published today on The Coveteur: “I really loved being Anna’s assistant. I’m sure all of you have seen The Devil Wears Prada and a lot of it is exaggerated—but some of that stuff actually did happen, and every day was an adventure.” Putting it mildly much?
Other highlights from the list include Kim Kardashian‘s recently-hired stylist duo, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haen. While they’ve only styled her for one event so far, here’s to hoping they can steer her clear of her recent fashion mishaps, like an unflattering pair of peplum pants she was spotted wearing in Beverly Hills or that bulky yellow cropped jacket that made the tabloid rounds. Two stylists came from public relations backgrounds: Jeanann Williams was a former KCD publicist and Samantha McMillen handled VIP relations at Giorgio Armani. We bet that background comes in handy when navigating tricky red carpet politics. And while stylist turned designer L’Wren Scott only has time for one client these days, when that client is Nicole Kidman, you’re THR list approved.
