The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Are Revealed

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Last night Anna Wintour assembled fashion’s power players at Rag & Bone’s studios to present the lucky 10 finalists in the running for the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Alums of the fund (and owners of the studio playing host for the occasion) Marcus Wainwright and David Neville acted as emcees for the evening, welcoming guests and announcing the group of talented designers. The nominated brands include Public School, Veronica Beard, Marc Alary Jewelry, Tim Coppens, Todd Snyder, Nonoo, OVANDIA & SONS, Tome, Parrabellum, and Juan Carlos Boando. The CVFF program rings in 10 years of providing financial and business-related support for the winning designers. How does Wintour feel about the progression of the program? “To my mind simply mentioning the likes of such previous winners as Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Rodarte, and Joseph Altuzarra more than demonstrates just how much the fund has brought to American fashion,” said the editrix.

The next step for the finalists includes collection reviews, drilling interviews, designing a one-of-a-kind look for Uniqlo, and studio visits by judges including Reed Krakoff, Jenna Lyons, Andrew Rosen, Ken Downing, and Steven Kolb, among others. The whole process wraps with a fashion show at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. and a NYC-based gala dinner announcing the final winner on November 11th. Good luck, finalists!
