Today, Target announced it’s teaming up with iconic Finnish design house Marimekko for its next designer collection. Expect racks and racks of the brand’s signature bold and bright prints to hit stores on April 17.
“When it comes to our partnerships, we travel far and wide to find designers and brands we think our guests will love,” said Julie Guggemos, Target’s SVP of product design and development, in a statement. “For our spring collaboration, that brought us all the way to Finland! We’ve had our eye on Marimekko for quite some time, and can’t wait for guests to have a chance to shop this limited-edition collection in just a few short weeks.”
The capsule will include more than 200 printed pieces that will draw shoppers to summer-centric departments including outdoor décor, furniture and entertaining (including paddle boards, inflatables, and hammocks) and beach and swimwear for women and girls. Also on tap are bocce ball sets and parachutes—a new category for the traditionally knitwear-focused brand. Prices range from $7.99 to $499.99, but most items will be available for less than $50.
“Target pioneered the concept of design partnerships and continues to raise the bar with each new collaboration,” added Tiina Alahuhta–Kasko, Marimekko president. “The Marimekko brand was created to bring color and happiness into people’s everyday lives. There are so many special pieces in this collection, and we are excited to share our storied prints and patterns with Target’s guests across the United States.”
