Pleats, please. Stella McCartney’s sporty take on spring had enough of the micro variety to make otherwise ho-hum shapes—asymmetric tunics, free-form skirts—much more interesting. But that was far from the sole idea McCartney offered. Short-sleeved polos, picnic-y plaids, criss-crossed stripes, and ultra-long vests were all included in the mix, which also (!) included eyelet frocks, new-shape suits, and a few dark denim ensembles. Lots to digest, no? But if you only focus on one aspect, let it be knits—especially a ribbed polo/tube skirt combo in a very Pepto shade of pink. Matchy-matchy work looks in weekend-friendly fabrics…now this, we like.
