(NEW YORK) Although Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook have arguably been the forefront of making runways accessible to those without front row access, Pinterest steps up to the plate with a new offering this season. The site’s newly-launched Fashion Week hub will provide a peek into the details behind the collections, street style sightings, and tutorials by designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenburg, Michael Kors and Kate Spade. Also on the docket: tips from tastemakers, such as Lauren Santo Domingo, The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine, and Molly Sims. Pinterest users publish nearly 2 million fashion related photos daily, meaning this new platform will have more than enough selection to satiate even the most astute fashion follower.
While this feature kicks off with New York Fashion Week next week, expect to see the initiative covering the scene in London, Paris, and Milan. Not in the mood to log on? The social media platform has partnered with the Style Network to add some spice to Fashion Week coverage with special segments that introduce “pinspiration” to television viewers across the nation. Kors told the Pinterest blog that through his pins, he “wanted to give my customers some ideas of what to wear right now, whether they are running to shows or just want to look chic and ready for anything.” Now, you’ll never have the excuse of being uninspired!
