Naeem Kahn Spring/Summer 2018

The drama! Naeem Khan loves to give a lot of look and a lot of embellishment much to the delight of all of his swans. But it was turn-of-the-century swan, Russian dancer Anna Pavlova, who he had on his mind. She was the prima ballerina of the Imperial Russian Ballet and Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes and coincidentally was most known for her creation of the role of The Dying Swan. But alas, the swan is not dead! Town & Country just celebrated 50 new modern swans at The Carlyle Hotel this week and we’re sure we’ll being seeing any number of them in Khan’s designs as they make their way around the social circuit.

The gowns ranged from princess to sexy vixen to grand dame. Pavolova was also one of the first ballerinas to tour ballet around the globe so their were hints of a myriad of cultural influences running through the collection from the fringe to the nose ring accents. Here there were plenty of options for both the modern and traditional swans alike.
