Louis Vuitton Names New York as the Location for its 2020 Cruise Show

The Louis Vuitton brand is built on travel. After all, the company was founded on luxury suitcases. It’s an aspect of the house’s history that creative director Nicolas Ghesquière has tapped into through his Cruise presentations, taking his show on the road to places like the Miho Museum outside of Kyoto, and the Niterói Museum in Rio. So where will the next LV Cruise show be held? New York!

Ghesquière casually made the announcement this morning via Instagram. The post featured drone shots that highlighted the architecture of the buildings used for his past Cruise shows. Considering the building is just as important as the city in Ghesquière’s decision process, it begs the question — which NYC landmark will he use?

Vuitton is not the only French heritage brand that has been eyeing NY for fashion shows. Last September Longchamp made its Manhattan debut during NYFW. Meanwhile this coming December Chanel will hold its Pre-Fall show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It seems the Big Apple is the place to be lately.

Louis Vuitton’s 2020 Cruise show will take place May 8th, 2019.
