Kim Kardashian to Receive Influencer Award at 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards
This morning, the CFDA announced plans to honor Kim Kardashian West with the Influencer Award at this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards. “Over the past decade, Kim Kardashian West has mastered the meaning of influence in the digital age,” said CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg.

Cate Blanchett Recycles Red Carpet Dress at Cannes (InStyle)
On Tuesday, Cate Blanchett walked the red carpet at the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival’s opening ceremony in a black Armani Privé gown she previously wore to the 2014 Golden Globes where she won Best Actress for her role in “Blue Jasmine.” Explaining her decision, she told InStyle “From couture to t-shirts, landfill is full of garments that have been unnecessarily discarded. Why Scarlett Johansson Wore Marchesa to the Met Gala (Variety)
On Monday, Scarlett Johansson did something no A-list celebrity has done in a very long time: she wore Marchesa on a major red carpet. Not only that, but it was actually her idea. A rep for Johansson told Variety that Johansson approached Chapman and Craig months ago. “I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful, and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers,” Johansson said in a statement.
“We are truly honored that Scarlett chose to wear Marchesa for the Met Gala,” a spokesperson for Marchesa told Variety. “She is an amazingly talented actor who has incredible style and presence. It was wonderful to work so closely with her in creating this custom look.”
Tyra Banks Offers Sage Career / Life Advice (Cosmopolitan)
Tyra Banks wrote a book. It’s called Perfect is Boring: 10 Things My Crazy, Fierce Mama Taught Me About Beauty, Booty, and Being a Boss and in case you couldn’t tell from the title, it is full of good, solid, motherly advice. Take this for example: “When a career opportunity looks like it might turn out to be a dead-end, don’t turn around and go home. Success is not a straight line; it is a winding road. There are all sorts of curves and roadblocks and traffic jams. The important thing is to keep going. Climb, crawl, leapfrog, high-jump, pole-vault, catapult—do whatever you gotta do to get and stay where you need to be. And if you get a few scrapes and bruises along the way, cherish them. Those are your scars from the journey and show how hard you worked to get where you are.”
So true, Tyra. So true.

Why Miley Cyrus Almost Skipped the Met Gala (Page Six)
Miley Cyrus slayed at Monday’s Met Gala in her backless Stella McCartney gown, but according to a source who spoke to Page Six, she was this close to skipping the whole affair. “She said that she’d gone out the night before and drank too much — and then she ate Indian food,” said the source. Miley then reportedly cracked that as a result of her excesses, she ended up “sleeping in a pool of my own vomit.”
Well… that’s one way to prep for the Met Gala.
