Joel McHale will host the annual CFDA Fashion Awards, this year on June 6 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, while Jennifer Hudson and Michael C. Hall will give live performances. McHale, a comedian/actor/writer popular for hosting E!’s The Soup and “someone who comes from outside the fashion industry,” the CFDA’s Steven Kolb noted in a release, is sure to bring his wit and candor to the awards, and will “keep the night lively, topical, and unexpected.”
The event, a collaboration between the CFDA and Swarovski, will include a seated dinner and a performance by Hall in tribute to David Bowie, this year’s Board of Directors’ Tribute honoree. Tilda Swinton will accept the honor on Bowie’s behalf. Grammy-Award winning Hudson will close the ceremony with a special performance.
