With Unilever’s agreement to acquire Living Proof Inc, actress and spokesperson Jennifer Aniston is parting ways with the company. She has been the celebrity spokesperson for the line and an investor since 2012. Unilever, an Anglo-Dutch company, signed an agreement to purchase a 100 percent stake in Living Proof, reported WWD. The company currently has hair product lines like Dove, Suave, TreSemme, and Nexxus under its umbrella. The acquisition marks Unilever’s first prestige hair line, which is currently sold at mega retailers like Ulta, Nordstrom, and Sephora. As a result, the line will be part of Unilever’s Prestige portfolio, which already includes top skincare brands like Dermalogica, Murad, and Kate Somerville, among others.
“Unilever shares our deep commitment to science, quality and innovation, making them the ideal partner to take us to the next stage of our journey,” stated Grace Ray, chief executive officer of Living Proof. Ray will stay on with the company under Unilever, reporting to Vasiliki Petrou, executive vice president of the prestige division at Unilever from Living Proof’s HQ in the Boston area.
