Karlie Kloss and Hailey Bieber have tight connections to the fashion world thanks to their careers. There was no question that they would have stunning wedding dresses. But even so, what they each chose managed to surprise fans. This week, both star in videos that offer an inside — and deeply personal — look at their custom gowns.
Kloss posted about her Dior dress on YouTube yesterday, tracking the process from the initial sketch to her wedding day. At one point Kloss and her mother jet to Paris for an emotional first fitting. But perhaps the most interesting detail was getting a chance to see her wedding shoes. Kloss opted to wear Dior flats, saying “I am not wearing heels on my wedding day. I want to dance the night away. And I feel most happy in flats.” (Let’s not forget Kloss is also 6′ 2″!)
Meanwhile, Vogue was there to record Hailey Bieber’s final fitting in her Off-White dress by Virgil Abloh. In the clip the designer mentions that this was actually his first wedding dress. But he couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be a part of his close friend’s big day. Close-ups reveal details like the intricate embroidery — including pearl beading in the shape of the Off-White logo — covering the gown.
