Gucci Debuts Spring/Summer 2018 ‘Utopian Fantasy’ Campaign

by Paige Reddinger

Gucci has unveiled another brilliant ad campaign. For Spring/Summer 2018, Alessandro Michele tapped artist Ignasi Monreal to create digital paintings in the style of old masters (from the Pre-Raphealite era to the Renaissance to Surrealism and beyond). Montreal also recently collaborated with Gucci on the brand’s street murals in New York and Milan.

The images are meant to conjure a “Utopian Fantasy” with a focus on three elements: the earth, the sea, and the sky in a series of imaginative landscapes. The beautiful works would be just at home in a magazine as they would in a museum and are every bit as memorable as last season’s tribute to retro sci-fi.

The campaign will roll out starting January 2018.
