GQ Gave Gap Hoodies a Makeover With the Coolest Designers on the Planet

GQ has long helped men navigate fashion. For over a decade it has even been compiling a list of the most exciting new designers in menswear. But last year, after expanding to brands around the world, the list became the Coolest Designers on the Planet. For the past seven years the publication has been going the extra mile by working with Gap to bring together some of fashion’s most interesting menswear designers for exclusive capsule collections. This year the’ve really outdone themselves.

2018’s crop of brands includes Opening Ceremony, Balmain, Dsquared2, MSGM, Officine Générale, Stampd, No Vacancy Inn, and Surf Is Dead. The designers were tasked with creating their own version of Gap’s college-letter logo hoodie. Their inspirations ran from America, to travel. But the concept that seems most popular was nostalgia, with a few referencing hoodies and logos from the past.  See all eight looks from the capsule below:
