It was mod central last night when GARAGE magazine and Marvel celebrated their tenth issue at—where else?—the Mercer Parking Garage in Soho, which was somehow emptied out for the evening to accommodate the fashion set. The special issue transformed some of the world’s biggest models, such as Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel, into female superheroes on five alternate covers. The covers were shot by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by GARAGE fashion director Charlotte Stockdale with beauty direction by Pat McGrath. Parked at the party last night were Kloss and Swanepoel, Lexi Boling, and Cuba Tornado Scott, along with GARAGE editor-in-chief Dasha Zhukova, Derek Blasberg, Natasha Poly, Emily Ratajkowski, Anna Ewers, and Lindsey Wixson.
How did a supe turned super like her transformation? “I love it!” Swanepoel told us. “I’m very happy with it. Patrick always does an amazing job, and I love working with Charlotte.” Don’t look for Swanepoel on the runway this season in New York. “I’m heading to Los Angeles on Saturday,” she confessed. Whomp.
The special issue of GARAGE hit stands yesterday.
