Fendi Fall/Winter 2017

by Paige Reddinger

Karl Lagerfeld is keeping it real this season at Fendi. Gone were the fairy tales told at the Italian house’s 90th anniversary couture show over Trevi Fountain. It might be hard to believe in fairy tales in these times, but that didn’t mean the collection wasn’t infused with every bit of the elegance and luxury for which Fendi is known. There were smart grey coats, dresses, and prince of wale check blazers trimmed in fur. A nice sensible pencil skirt here, a chic pair of classic trousers there, leather a-line zip skirts and classic silk pleated versions, and of course, some classic butterscotch, slim short hair minks were all paired with some killer thigh-high red boots which will be one of the season’s musts. And for the sheer gowns that have been sweeping the Milan runways, they were styled chez Fendi with ultra sexy deep-v body suits underneath—the best of which was a black lattice version with rounded sleeves and sheer second skin simple black number that seemed to float down the runway. Throw off the dresses and you could easily be beach or yacht ready. Perfect for jet-setting, non?
