Best of Pre-Fall 2016: Tibi, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger

by Paige Reddinger

Label: Tibi
Inspiration: “I focused a lot on brown, natural colors, but I wanted to make sure that they were very urban and modern. I added in feminine details like a floral print, but I made sure we had that balance where nothing was too precious or girly. Everything was a little bit deconstructed or a little bit unexpected with exaggerated proportions. I wanted to take a modern approach to very basic ideas.” –Amy Smilovic
Highlights: An embellished leather pinafore dress, men’s tailoring, an unexpected but cool floral print, and an oversized check pattern that was just right. And of course, the perfect selection of shoes that you will want to live in as soon as this collection is delivered (we know you can’t wait to dig out Tibi’s ultra popular slip-on loafers as soon as the weather turns too).

Label: Tory Burch
Inspiration: “Pre-fall 2016 celebrates the quiet strength of poet, writer and artist Etel Adnan. We found inspiration in her beautiful sense of color and contrast as well as her travels and multi-cultural spirit.”
Highlights: Chic patterns, color-blocked Chantilly lace, and relaxed, easy silhouettes.

Label: Tommy Hilfiger
Inspiration: Ahoy! Nautical theme clothing was the focus for Hilfiger this season. The theme, “Welcome to America”, was also infused with references to ’20s-era style.
Highlights: Lightweight dresses worn with heavy sailor coats, velvet shorts, Tomboy denim looks inspired by dock workers, a fun striped jumpsuit and varsity jackets.
