Ally Hilfiger was the belle of the ball at The Jane Hotel last night where friends and that famous father of hers celebrated her new book, Bite Me (available today), which recounts her struggle with lyme disease. The story goes…Hilfiger was bitten by a tick when she was 7, but wasn’t successfully diagnosed with Lyme disease for 11 years. For nearly 20 years, she suffered from constant physical pain in her muscles and joints, strep throat, a recurring flu, and spent time in a psych ward as she fought. Why would she want to go down that path again? “It’s a stepping stone toward creating more awareness and getting to the bottom of some of the questions and maybe helping people,” Hilfiger told The Daily last night. “Not only with Lyme disease, but in general. I went through a lot and had a lot of challenges along the way. I learned a lot and those lessons are in the book. I hope to bring love and happiness to people, but most of all awareness.”

A few familiar faces at last night’s packed bash were father Tommy Hilfiger, Dee Hilfiger, Andy Hilfiger and his kids, Princess Beatrice of York, Linda Fargo, Pamela Love, Rose McGowan, Denise Rich, Stephen Cirona, and hubby Steve Hash.

How’d the night go for the new author? “It was surreal, overwhelming in the most beautiful sense of the word,” she said as things were winding down. “I’m so happy my cheeks hurt because I’ve been smiling so much. I’m so happy that I’m here today and I can share my story.” She ended our mini chat with a hug.
