A Russian Toast For Roger Vivier's Spring Collection

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Armed with teeny glasses of colorful liqueur and blinis smothered in caviar, a well-heeled crowd got in the spirit for a Russian-themed dinner to celebrate Roger Vivier’s Spring collection on Tuesday eve. The locale, Mari Vanna, featured decor that transported guests to a rustic Eastern European abode, complete with matryoshka dolls, shabby chic furniture, and authentic Russian food to boot.

While the bash was thrown in celebration of Miroslava Duma’s recent campaign (which was lensed by photog prodigy Olivia Bee) for Vivier’s Codes, a series of circumstances kept her from leaving her native Russia. Therefore, Ines de la Fressange, the ultimate French style icon and the brand ambassador for the label, was on hostess duties. Unsurprisingly, de la Fressange had the room captivated while she made her toast, even poking a bit of fun at her absent co-host’s widespread Instagram fame. As for de la Fressange’s favorite part of working with the brand? “I just want to have fun, and at Roger Vivier we have fun [pieces] that aren’t tacky; they’re not vulgar and they’re not boring. They’re elegant,” de la Fressange told us.

The crowd included Rosie Assoulin, Suno’s Max Osterweis, Derek Blasberg, Kate Foley, Glamour‘s Cindi Leive, Leandra Medine, Mary Alice Stephenson, Karla Martinez, Alexis Bittar, Vogue‘s Rickie De Sole, Kyle Hotchkiss Carone, Rushka Bergman, and Lily Kwong. They were all strewn amongst three long tables in a back room, where they spent the rest of the eve savoring a family-style meal that featured more caviar, plenty of wine, chicken kiev, plus mini napoleons for dessert. Aside from the many pairs of Vivier heels dotting the room, the most coveted accessory of the night were personal floral arrangements courtesy of Taylor Tomasi Hill’s latest venture, TTH Blooms. Actually, they were so adored that each guest made sure to take home one (or two) floral creations on their way out the door.
