Saks' Latest Excuse To Shop: Extremely Ethical!

by The Daily Front Row

This weekend, Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship outpost is hosting an event with awesomely meaningful bauble line Same Sky, and it’s not your run-of-the-mill rationale to exercise that credit card: the “ethical” shopping event (not a series of words we often see strung together!) commemorates the anniversary of the Rwanda Genocide. Proceeds from the joaillerie purchases help genocide survivors in myriad ways, from paying for an HIV-positive artisan’s healthcare for a year to financing a family’s clean drinking water for a month. Need more incentive to shop the shindig, which is happening in Saks’ palatial eighth floor shoe spread? Miss USA (Nana Meriwether) will be hanging out at the event on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Though the karma kick is obviously the major draw here…
