Sleepwear’s gone chic. thanks to Francesco Scognamiglio’s Spring offering. The collection opened up with a spate of baby blue silk pieces, decorated with bits of lace, which certainly lent a boudoir-esque feeling. The sheer dresses and floaty skirts revealed a peek of underpinnings, mostly in the form of high-waisted briefs. But the most successful bedroom looks translated into evening pieces, like a white crepe jumpsuit with romantic white chiffon sleeves dusted with vine appliques. The collection then shifted from the innocent hues of white, pale blue, and sorbet orange to black, and the looks got a bit more demure. Case in point: a mesh knit dress, dotted with petite pearls and finished off with thick satin cuffs and seams. Scognamiglio is certainly showing us that sexy is in for Spring.
