Kaia Gerber Is the New Face of YSL Beauté (WWD)
Kaia Gerber has another major career milestone under her belt: a beauty contract! Gerber has been named the new makeup ambassador for YSL Beauté. “To be the new face of YSL Beauté is an opportunity to write a new story full of fun, color and makeup,” she told WWD. “I love the DNA of a brand that is so subversive, while being so luxurious and cool.” Beginning in January she will front a campaign for the brand’s Rouge Volupté Shine moisturizing lipstick.

Zadig & Voltaire Returns to Paris for Spring 2019 Show
After showing in New York for the past few seasons, creative director Cecilia Bönström brought Zadig & Voltaire back to Paris for its Spring 2019 show. The collection, which balanced masculine silhouettes with feminine details, embodied the Zadig motto: girls can do anything.

For both the men’s and women’s collections Bönström toyed with juxtaposition: casual streetwear was expertly tailored. Leather was paired with lace. Athleticwear was soft and pretty, while suits were softened for an everyday appeal. Fall 2018 campaign star Eva Herzigova sat front row for the proceedings, as did stars like Alessandra Ambrosio and Cameron Dallas.

Adding to the collection this season was a collaboration with The Woolmark company. Four woolen tank tops were created for the collection, emblazoned with the names of brand muses Herzigova, Freja Beha Erichsen, and Sasha Pivovarova.

Thankfully for those who weren’t in Paris this past weekend, Zadig live streamed the show. You can re-live it, here.

The RealReal Has Launched a Sustainability Calculator
Today is National Consignment Day, and to celebrate the luxury consignment company The RealReal has launched a sustainability calculator. The company worked with the Portland, Oregon-based sustainability consultancy Shift Advantage to develop the methodology quantifying greenhouse gas, energy, and water saved from women’s clothing items consigned, finding that the company has offset 65 million car miles in greenhouse gasses and energy since 2012. “Consigning is good for the environment, and I am thrilled we have developed a valid and quantifiable way for our customers to measure the positive impact their consignment has on the planet,” said founder Julie Wainwright. “It takes my breath away that people consigning apparel alone have made such a tremendous impact — the equivalent of 340,000 trees planted.” See here for more information about the calculator.
