Now that she’s cleaned out her attic in the Hamptons, Betsey Johnson is clearing out her Manhattan closet. The iconic designer is selling over 5,000 pieces at a three-day sale at her studio, which begins on October 21 at 10 a.m. Team B.J. tells us she’ll be selling off her entire archival vintage B.J. clothing collection as well as her personal vintage. She’ll also be getting rid of shoes, bags, jewelry, and (gasp!) her own original artwork. The sale will be held at 336 West 37th Street in Suite 970 and is cash only. It’s all part of Johnson’s plan to downsize as she spends more time in California with her daughter, Lulu Johnson, and grandchildren, who live in Malibu. If you can’t swing by next week, we’re optimistic she’s got another closet somewhere in Manhattan with another 5,000 pieces to be unearthed at a later date.
