A parade of gauzy jersey, silk organza, and chiffon frocks floated down the runway at Reem Acra, nodding to mid-20th century Paris couturiers as well as photography from the era. This played out via intricately wrought gowns in mostly pastels, like aqua, blush, and blue-grey. Despite the more formal lengths, the abundance of cutouts revealed large swaths of skin all over the place, but the generous slices of obliques and rib cages and such were tempered by exceptionally detailed beading. Acra does, after all, do major business in bridal, where exquisite detailing reigns supreme. A few eggplant numbers could easily segue to Fall, and nicely broke up all that pastel action.
