Persol Celebrates the Launch of The Calligrapher Collection at the Waverly Inn

by Paige Reddinger

Persol launched their new collection of eyewear called The Calligrapher Edition last night to a select crowd at The Waverly Inn. The new collection was inspired by the world of modern calligraphy to emphasize the importance of having a personal signature in today’s digital, fast-paced world. The campaign for the eyewear features Paul Antonio, a world renowned calligrapher, immersed in his artisanal work. The eyewear reflects the inspiration in outer metal temples recalling the look of calligraphy pens or side arms finished with the name of the collection and decorations inspired by calligraphy lines. But regardless of inspiration, you can be assured that this is yet another chic range from the iconic brand worth coveting.

Guests like Hari Nef, Ian Mellencamp, Ian Bradley, TK Wonder, and Levi Dylan all came out to celebrate the new collection. The cozy environs of the Waverly Inn were the perfect setting for a rainy cold evening with guests dining over the restaurant’s comfort foods like ricotta gnocchi and their famous chicken pot pie. With Halloween right around the corner, some guests were still last minute planning their costumes. Dylan and photographer Alana O’Herlihy, who recently started shooting for Vogue and V, told The Daily they were thinking of going as Yoko Ono and John Lennon circa the iconic photo of the famous lovebirds in matching white ensembles. In the photo, both are wearing their signature eyewear. Perhaps a pair of Persols would be just the thing, non?

The Persol Calligrapher Edition collection is available now at Sunglass Hut stores, SunglassHut.com, and specialty eyewear boutiques nationwide.
