Ba&sh is coming stateside! Those in the know about the Parisian label should be happy to hear the news and those that haven’t yet discovered the brand should check it out when they open on Madison Avenue next month (an L.A. location is set to open in December as well). The contemporary label, which features chic essentials, was founded by friends Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief, who have been friends since childhood and have long shared a mutual love of fashion. L Catterton, and investment arm of LVMH and Groupe Arnault, acquired a 50 percent stake in the brand in 2015, which has allowed the company to expand globally. Sarah Benady, formerly the U.S. president of The Kooples, is leading ba&sh’s expansion stateside as CEO for North America.
To celebrate, the brand hosted a cocktail hour at Spring Place in which guests could peruse the clothing and sip champagne and wine. The cocktail hour was followed by an intimate dinner hosted by Boccara and Krief alongside Olivia Palermo. Guests like Misha Nonoo, Miguel Enamorado, Babba Canales, Mackinley Hill and Chase Hill (siblings of supermodel Taylor Hill…and beauties in their own right), Mary Leest, and more. The French crowd was planning a night out on the town in New York City post-dinner and as other guests began to bring the night to a close one Vogue staffer was heard saying, “I just love this collection. I want to wear everything!” No doubt a great start for the brand’s entrée into the American market.
