(NEW YORK) Marc Jacobs has a new muse and a different photog for his Spring 2014 ads: Miley Cyrus pouts her way through the designer’s latest campaign, shot by David Sims. The shoot pulls from Jacobs’ NYFW set, with a covered-up Cyrus brooding on a dark beach with models Natalie Westling and Esmerelda Seay Reynolds in the background.
The shoot was styled by Katie Grand, the LOVE editor in chief who also selected Cyrus to cover the most recent issue of her glossy. This time around, Jacobs swapped out Juergen Teller, who’s previously shot all campaign images for the label, for Sims. Why the shift in shutterbugs? “I have worked with Juergen for years and love him as an artist. He just didn’t want to shoot [Cyrus],” the designer told WWD.
Cyrus’ previous collaborations with Jacobs include posing au naturel for the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Protect the Skin You’re In” T shirt campaign. Cyrus presented Robert Duffy and Jacobs with their Superstar Award at the Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars gala in October, and she donned one of Jacobs’ fishnet gowns at the Met Ball in May. Cyrus also makes frequent front-row appearances at the designer’s shows. We’ll be waiting with bated breath to see her choice of outfit this time around.
