Dee Hilfiger is launching a new luxury handbag line called Dee Ocleppo. Hilfiger, who is married to iconic American designer Tommy Hilfiger, named the new handbag line using her maiden name. This will be Dee Hilfiger’s second foray into the accessories business.

Handbag intel! Tina Craig and Kelly Cook of the uber popular bag website Bag Snob are launching their own line of handbags for HSN. The collection will be called Snob Essentials and will range in prices from $68 to $108 (not-so-snobby price points!). HSN has ordered 6,000 of the bags, while luxury retailers like Italy’s LuisaViaRoma has ordered 700 bags in every style. The collection will be exclusive to HSN for Spring 2014, but will expand to other retailers like LuisaViaRoma come Fall.

A Disney animated classic is getting a pretty highbrow redux: Sofia Coppola is slated to direct the live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, according to the folks at The Hollywood Reporter. Don’t expect the Hans Christian Andersen-penned tale to get all angsty-ethereal a la The Virgin Suicides, or precocious, raucous good times in the vein of The Bling Ring: this remake will be wholesome, family-apropos fare.
