(NEW YORK) More to love! Katie Grand-helmed Love Magazine has added stylist Panos Yiapanis to its masthead as fashion director at large. Yiapanis has often contributed to Love since the Conde title’s 2009 inception, working with shutterbugs like Mario Testino and Mert Alas avec Marcus Piggot, in addition to having his work featured in titles like i-D, W, VMAN, and Vogue Italia. He’s styled for the likes of Rick Owens (apparently a close friend of the stylist’s and longtime collaborator), Givenchy, and Roberto Cavlli, plus ad campaign work for top-tier maisons such as Chanel and Calvin Klein. (He also worked with Dolce & Gabbana for two seasons.) Yiapanis hails from Athens, Greece and had aspirations of being a sculptor. Before he got into styling, Yiapanis served a military stint followed by a year at Oxford, then a move to London.
As for Yiapanis’ thoughts on going the on-staff route, albeit in an at-large capacity? “Having been a nomadic contributor for all my career, I am extremely excited at the prospect and opportunities that this position brings,” said Yiapanis in a statement on his fresh gig. He will report to Love‘s EIC, Grand, in his new capacity at the biannual mag.
