Last night ADEAM designer Hanako Maeda hosted an intimate dinner at Sushi Nakazawa in the West Village to celebrate her handbag collaboration with Parisian luxury leather goods brand, Perrin Paris. Maeda, along with Chloe Perrin, welcomed guests like stylist Keegan Singh, makeup guru Edward Bess, Last Magazine co-founder Tenzin Wild, Out of Order founder Dorian Grinspan, model Soo Joo Park, and chicsters like Cipriana Quann, TK Quann, and Genevieve Jones. Guests dined over a carefully crafted six-course meal thanks to celebrity chef Daisuke Nakazawa, who was formerly an apprentice of Jiro Ono (of Jiro Dreams of Sushi fame) in Japan. “I wanted to host the dinner here, because this is one of the truly authentic Japanese restaurants in New York,” said Maeda.
Maeda’s Spring 2016 collection was inspired by her Japanese heritage and a trip to Kyoto this past April. Borrowing from traditional Japanese architecture, woodblock prints by Hokusai, antique Kimono textiles, and the late Edo period in Japan, Adeam’s spring collection is a cool, modern take on these cultural influences, making Nakazawa’s take on the classic Japanese cuisine a perfect setting for the luxurious but low-key soirée.
