Jonathan Simkhai has announced his second collaboration with luxury active apparel company Carbon38. The 22-piece collection was ironically inspired by the corset, which is not known for being a freeing or modern garment, but in Simkhai’s hands and Carbon38’s materials it takes on a whole new life. Corsetry lacing appears on workout leggings, tank tops, crop-tops, and more. Plus, the collection features more unexpected design touches like flared crop pants and flounced sleeves.
“I design clothing for women who want figure-flattering shapes in original motifs, as well as fabrics that balance masculine strength and feminine sensuality,” said Simkhai in a press statement. “My goal is to empower women to lead their active lives in style, and partnering with Carbon38 was the natural next step given the popularity and practicality that this chic athletic brand is known for. They understand and embrace my aesthetic, which allows me the freedom to create truly unique and functional designs.”
The collection, which is made in Los Angeles and retails from $125 to $495, features some seriously sexy silhouettes that would be attention-grabbing both at the gym and the nightclub. Jonathan Simkhai x Carbon38 launches today and will be available on Carbon38.com and JonathanSimkhai.com.
