Chilly, rainy weather didn’t stop the chic set from donning their tweed twinsets last night at Balthazar, where Chanel hosted the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner. The perfectly Parisian Soho staple was reconfigured a but to accommodate a bevy of fashion and film luminaries, in addition to an over-the-top red carpet set up that shut down a full block of Spring Street in front of the restaurant. Festival supporter Peter Brant made a quiet entrance while his son, Peter Brant Jr., hung outside with pals Jamie Bochert, Sofia Malamute, Anna Ewers, and Lindsey Wixson, who were smoking cigarettes while waiting for the late-running red carpet to wrap up.
Uma Thurman, Minnie Driver, Emily Mortimer, Dennis Leary, Jennifer Morrison, and Saturday Night Live’s Taran Killam with wife Colbie Smudlers were all in attendance too. The acting pack kept largely to themselves, save for some interaction between Thurman and on-again, off-again flame, hotelier Andre Balazs. During dinner, industry legend Bethann Hardison chatted with Karlie Kloss about her newfound computer coding skills and the recently-announced #KodingWithKarlie Scholarship to teach teenage girls how to code. Hardison said she would be sending a few friends Kloss’ way.
Guests left dinner with a gift bag of Chanel goodies, although Annabelle Dexter-Jones snagged another gift in addition to the swag bag: the centerpiece from her table.
