(NEW YORK) Carolina Herrera is entering new territory with the release of Bridal Sleepwear Capsule, a collaboration with rising star Arielle Shapiro of Ari Dein. Herrera gave The Daily an exclusive look at what to expect from the line of upscale lingerie just for brides. Yet another reason to put a ring on it…

Tell us about your bridal lingerie collection!
The bridal PJ collection is amazing. There are five silhouettes in two satin color ways, ivory and grey.

So you’re working on this with a relatively new designer, Arielle Shapiro. How did you both find each other?
Ari was part of the CFDA incubator program, which is how we were first introduced. I love working with Ari because she has a great eye for detail and is an expert at creating luxury sleepwear. [The CFDA Fashion Incubator is a business development program designed to support the next generation of fashion designers in New York City.]

Where are the garments made?
Ari shares my appreciation for New York City, so everything from the design to production is done here.

What’s unique about them?
This collection is for brides. The subtle touches of lace plus silk-covered buttons make them romantic and ethereal. It’s designed to make a woman feel amazing during the nights surrounding her wedding when she needs her beauty sleep!

Why do you love working a bit in the realm of bridal?
The bridal industry has never stopped being a world of fantasy, and that’s why I love it. I am always very honored every time a bride selects a Carolina Herrera wedding dress. It’s so rewarding to contribute to one of the most important moments in a woman’s life, and to make her feel beautiful, confident and special.

Besides this, you and Ari have a sleepwear capsule collection coming in November…
The capsule has three silk charmeuse pajama sets that are made up of two colors, a champagne and navy. My favorite is the classic button-up top with trousers because they are so comfortable!

What’s your go-to wedding gift?
I love to give personalized wedding gifts that are meaningful to the couple getting married.

Do you read The New York Times wedding announcements on Sundays?
It’s hard not to skim over, since it’s in the Sunday Styles section. It’s always fun to read how couples found each other.

What advice would you give to any bride walking down the aisle?
A confident smile is the best way to finish off your wedding day look. Remember, your best accessory is waiting for you at the end of the aisle!
