Editor’s Pick: Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G

by Charles Manning

What: Samsung’s newest and most amazing smartphone. The Galaxy Note 10+ 5G has a 6.8-inch screen, cinematic infinity display, a pro-grade camera with three lenses — wide, super-wide, and telephoto — a zoom-in mic for focusing on specific audio sounds, a redesigned S Pen that allows you to control your phone at a distance with gesture controls, and a whole lot more.

Who: Samsung is a South Korean tech conglomerate making everything from computers, televisions, and home appliances, to medical equipment, electronic components, and, of course, smartphones. If you’re an Apple user you might turn up your nose at the thought of using a non-Apple tech product, but Samsung really is the gold standard of the Android world and once you try it out for yourself, you’ll never want to go back.

Why: First and foremost, the camera is AMAZING. Not only does it take the sharpest, prettiest photos and videos you’ve ever seen on a phone, it’s got an improved Super Steady feature for running video shots and a super cool live focus feature that allows you to make depth of field adjustments automatically in real time. The stylus, something you’ll never find on an iPhone, is also pretty amazing. It allows you to convert handwriting to text and export it directly to Word. And no, your handwriting doesn’t have to be perfect to make it work. Far from it. By inputting thousands of different writing samples and utilizing AI computer learning, Samsung was able to create a phone that can read even sloppy handwriting.

Storage? This phone is full of it! 256GB standard, with an option to upgrade to 512GB for just $100 more. You can even add a further 1TB of storage via a microsd card.

It also has a super-fast charger, a smart battery that won’t quit on you, and so many other features, it’s impossible to include them all here. This isn’t just a phone. It’s a gamin console, a film studio, and a computer with an intelligent pen interface all in one. It’s amazing.

And finally, not to be totally basic, but, like, it’s just so pretty!
