Editor’s Pick: John Frieda’s Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray

by The Daily Front Row

What: John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray is made with chamomile and citrus and can brighten blonde hues by up to two shades in as little as three to five applications.

Who: The John Frieda brand started with the opening of a salon on New Cavendish Street, London, over three decades ago. Today, the vision of the brand reflects that salon heritage: delivering products that target specific style problems and transform them. For salon-caliber results you can see and feel.

Why: There’s just something so deliciously retro about lightening spray, right? Besides, summer isn’t over yet and you’re determined to get as much out of it as you possibly can. Here’s what you do: After washing and conditioning your hair, towel it dry, spray the formula thoroughly, then style your hair as desired. Easy! Pro Tip: For optimal lightening, use a flat iron or curling iron after blow-drying, and make sure not to use the spray more than 10 times between professional color treatments.

Where: Pretty much everywhere hair care products are sold, but specifically at Ulta, Walgreens, and Target.

How (much): Only about $10 to $13, depending on where you’re shopping. Either way, it’s a heck of a lot cheaper (and easier) than a trip to your colorist.
