This weekend, Donna Karan, Kelly Ripa, and Gabby Karan de Felice joined forces again to host the “Rolls-Royce of garage sales,” a.k.a Super Saturday, in the Hamptons. The annual shopping event, which raises money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, celebrated its 19th year. Hamptonites never fail to show their support, and this year Christy Turlington Burns, Molly Sims, Rachel Zoe, Star Jones, Jonathan Cheban, June Ambrose, Katherine Jenkins, and Joy Behar came out for the event, which has grown year by year—as Donna Karan reminds us, the event started in a backyard. “It was at [former Harper’s Bazaar EIC] Liz Tilberis’ backyard. No one had known about [her ovarian cancer] at the time. My husband had lung cancer, and we took the concept of Seventh on Sale, which started with the AIDS epidemic, and brought it here. So it’s about dressing and addressing,” said the designer, who was wearing a set of stacked bracelets that said “Not one more,” in support of ending gun violence.
Like every year, the event featured a wide range of designers, this year with nearly 150 participants, including DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Milly, Theory, L’Agence, and Calypso St. Barth. Zoe had her “Designers A to Zoe” booth for the ninth consecutive year (bananas, right?), where the stylist-turned-designer featured a curated selection of pieces from her favorite luxe designers like Giambattista Valli, Jenni Kayne, Lanvin, Moschino, and Oscar de la Renta. A new edition to the event this year was the Lifestyle Marketplace, which was curated by Donna and Gabby and featured unique finds in clothing, accessories, and home goods. Lizzie Tisch’s Suite 1521 also made its debut with a ready-to-wear and accessories booth featuring brands like ADEAM, Anya Hindmarch, Edie Parker, Mary Katrantzou, Rodarte, Preen, and Peter Pilotto. For the tots in attendance, Lyss Stern was back with Camp Divalysscious for arts and crafts and special performances, as well as psychic readings with Betsy Wahmann and floral crown making with B Floral. Only in the Hamptons!
