Cinema Society Hosts The Host For A Change

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) This week, The Cinema Society and Jaeger-LeCoultre very aptly “hosted” a screening of Open Road Films’ The Host, in theatres today. It’s the next big love story from Twilight (perhaps you’ve heard of that franchise) creator Stephenie Meyer, who was in attendance. It’s your typical “enemy threatening mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing your memories” story. Stars Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, Max Irons, Jake Abel, and Boyd Holbrook were in attendance at the Tribeca Grand’s screening room with a crowd including Kruger’s love Joshua Jackson, Dylan McDermott, Patti Smith, and those card carrying Cinema Society members Gabby Sidibe, Jason Wu, Olivier Theyskens, Tyson Ballou, Carlos Leon, Christian Campbell, and Amy Sacco. “I’m ready and prepared,” Kruger explains about the chance that The Host could become Twilight-big after this weekend. Her co-star Jake Abel is less keen about the prospect of becoming the next Robert Pattinson. “I think it would be difficult to lose that much privacy,” he told The Daily. “Luckily so far (all of this) hasn’t changed my life in any way. If I can maintain that, that would be nice.” Don’t count on it, kid. After the screening the gang headed to Jimmy at the James Hotel where they enjoyed special Vikingfjord cocktails named The Wanderer and The Seeker as an homage to the film.
