Céline Fall 2015

When Phoebe Philo creates a collection, you can be sure it won’t look like anything you’ve seen before. This season Philo’s version of the exaggerated long sleeve came with bell-shaped cuffs, for instance, or as giant fur muffs on a stellar cream trench. Coats and capes were done in blanket-like material, and some shirts were adorned with what looked like etchings of ferrets and foxes. Puffs of fur were worn on the shoulders, and jumpsuits came in soft cozy fabrics. Plus, there were utilitarian pockets on coats and bags that were slung across the chest, as well as oversized totes. Philo is always thinking of her busy, modern day woman who’s more about her smarts than her figure; this season, it seemed Philo had that woman’s comfort in mind, too.
