Calvin Klein Fall 2015

by Paige Reddinger

Another chic fashion week nod to ’60s mod chez Calvin. But in Francisco Costa‘s hands, it had a sleek, thoroughly modern feel. There were all the era’s signatures, like culottes, A-line mini dresses, and retro coats. The latter were stellar and done in needle-punched haircalf and shearling. Costa also gave a twist to patchwork using small rectangular pieces like a Tetris puzzle, which felt new and sophisticated. The best example was a chocolate, black, and garnet patchwork leather maxi coat. The burgundy embroidered patent leather peacoat, which was the only vibrant color in the collection, was certainly something to lust over.

Some pieces that felt quintessentially Calvin Klein were a couple of long black chenille dresses with open leather keyhole slits that ran down the torso. They were ever so slightly sexy and truly minimalist. That look came in multiple iterations, like mini dresses and jumpsuits. There were plenty of looks here that will have Calvin Klein Collection’s clientele swooning.
