Best of Pre-Fall 2016: Calvin Klein Collection, Michael Kors Collection, Ralph Lauren

by Paige Reddinger

Pre-Fall 2016 is in full swing and The Daily has been busy attending what feels like hundreds of previews. Over the next week we’ll present the key looks and styles from each collection for a roundup of the latest trends and must-have pieces from all of the top collections.

Brand: Calvin Klein Collection
Starting point: Creative director Francisco Costa’s minimalist, sleekly embellished pre-fall collection was inspired by the works of British artist and sculptor Barbara Hepworth.
Highlights: Luxurious fur trimmed outerwear with a hint of sensuality via high-slit skirts

Brand: Michael Kors Collection
Starting point: Think global. That’s Michael Kors’ motto now that his business is bigger than ever. That means slouchy ’90s pants, ultra-fine lace for his sophisticated woman, and chic dresses that easily transform from cocktail to dressy beach attire in a mere change of shoes for his jet-setters.
Highlights: Delicate lace details, florals, fur, and versatile day-to-evening pieces.

Brand: Ralph Lauren
Starting point: Simple and classicRalph Lauren at its best. Although taupes, grays, mauves, and nudes dominated, a stunning white evening gown will be a must for Tinseltown’s most elegant leading ladies. Who will get their hands on it first?
Highlights: Casual suede, elegant evening wear, monochromatic looks, and Deco-inspired prints.
