Art Basel! The Parties! The Ultimate Recap

While many came to Art Basel in Miami for the art last week, we know a couple of folks who came strictly for the never ending party scene.  This year Christian Louboutin, Chloé Prada, Bvlgari, Diesel, your Daily, and many, many more were on the scene to put the art in party. Here are some highlights from the week…

On Tuesday night, Christian Louboutin, Kasseem ‘Swizz Beats’ Dean, and Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) director Franklin Sirmans celebrated artist Ebony G. Patterson with a ‘Supper Party’ experience at PAMM in honor of her exhibition . . .while the dew is still on the roses. . . The party brought out Sasha Lane, Isolde Brielmaier, Victor & Athena Calderone, Derrick Adams, Heather Flow, Madison Headrick, Isaac Hindin-Miller, and Lando Griffin. Guests sipped on custom cocktails curated by Pernod Ricard.

For Design Miami/ 2018, Louis Vuitton presented new pieces from Objets Nomades, an ever-expanding collection of limited edition, collectible furniture inspired by the House’s historic Art of Travel campaign. Louis Vuitton celebrated on Tuesday night with a cocktail dinatoire at Cecconi’s, which brought out Poppy, Caroline Daur, Christian Bendek, Patrick Reymond, and Vince Fay.

Chloé and The Bass (museum) hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate the recent opening of Aaron Curry: Tune Yer Head. The night kicked off with a private tour of the exhibition before a dinner which featured a performance by Canadian singer, Annie Sama. The night welcomed Aaron Curry, Annie Sama, Astrid Boutrot, Almine Rech, Bernard Ruiz Picasso Leilani Lynch, Arnaud Cauchois, Silvia Karman Cubiña, and Ellie Goulding. The exhibition runs through April 21, 2019 if you’re Miami bound this winter. There’s plenty of InstaStory material on hand.

Bvlgari hosted a cocktail and dinner at The Faena Hotel on Tuesday to celebrate their collaboration with non-profit Art Production Fund of a public sculpture commission by Raúl de Nieves. The night began with cocktails in the Mammoth Garden to check out the sculpture before guests moved inside to the Faena Theatre for dinner. The dinner saw the likes of Laura Harrier, Chloe Sevigny, Jess Glynne, Winnie Harlow, Candice Swanepoel, Devon Windsor, and a performance by Jess Glynne.

The Daily with Alan Faena and Philippe Hoerle-Guggenheim hosted a dinner and party on Wednesday night to celebrate the third edition of our collaboration with Sebastian Faena, Act 1. The night welcomed Paris Hilton, Chloe Sevingy, Devon Windsor, Barbara Sturm, Valentina Ferrer, Caroline Daur, Jason Morgan, Pietro Bosselli, and Giampaolo Sgura. Art was on hand by Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli  and Louis Carreon. Check out our full recap HERE.

Diesel and The Boiler presented (best name ever) “Not Another Basel Event” on Thursday night. The event brought out Teyana Taylor, Yo Gotti, Mykki Blanco, Jenny Albright, Andrew Warren, Adam Bartoshesky, Moti Ankari, and Isaac Hindin-Miller.

Rockwell x 1 OAK was once again on hand in Miami for a weekend of pop-up parties. Friday night’s event saw a live and impromptu party by rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill. “Tonight’s a real celebration, for two separate reasons,” Ross told partygoers. “The first being in memory of his longtime manager Black Bo, who passed away just a year ago, and the second being in celebration of the release and success of Meek Mills’s newest album post-prison: Championships.” Rockwell x 1 Oak also welcomed Venus Williams, Busta Rhymes, Gucci Mane, and Jonathan Cheban throughout the weekend.

Prada returned to Basel for a series of events. On Thursday night they hosted a cocktail party at Prada Mode Miami with Derek Blasberg in honor of Theaster Gates, followed  by a private dinner. Guests included Kanye West, Emma Roberts, Venus Williams, and Karolina Kurkova. The evening featured a performance by Gates and The Black Monks of Mississippi Live.

Surf Lodge took over The Confidante Miami Beach for a series of activations including a dinner to celebrate Andrew Warren’s Just Drew line, fitness classes put on by Nordstrom activewear brand, Zella, and a performance by Lil Wayne on Friday night. Garrett Neff was also there for a special pop-up of his Katama X Surf Lodge collection. Hamptons faces such as Sailor Brinkley-Cook, Jayman Cardoso, Hannah Bronfman, and Danielle Bernstein stopped by.

Candice Swanepoel hosted a party at the Miami Beach EDITION on Saturday afternoon for her swimwear line Tropic of C.  Friends such as Joan Smalls, Sarah Bahbah, Elizabeth Sulcer, Amilna Estevao, Martha Graeff, Kristina Romanova, Amanda Wellsh, Maryna Linchuk and Valentina Zelyaeva came out for the VS angel.

Luxury vintage retailer What Goes Around Comes Around celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Versace mansion on Saturday night. The evening included iconic archival pieces designed by Gianni Versace. Helena Christensen, Devon Windsor, Joy Corrigan, Isabeli Fontana, Rosario Dawson, and Delilah Belle dropped by.
