Last night, one Brit honored another at The Mandarin Oriental when Anna Wintour presented her friend Andrew Bolton, the curator of The Costume Institute at The Mey and beau of Thom Browne, with the Vilcek prize in fashion at the 10th annual Vilcek Foundation awards dinner. The prizes are awarded annually to immigrants who have made lasting contributions to American society. (We don’t think Bolton being named one of New York‘s 50 sexiest New Yorkers in 2003 had anything to do with this, but we can’t confirm.) The evening also honored some emerging talents. with the 2015 prizes for Creative Promise, which went to Siki Im, Natallia Pilipenka, and Tuyen Tran. This honor supports young immigrants who have already demonstrated exceptional talent early in their career. The evening brought out the likes of foundation founders Jan and Marica Vilcek, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, Julie Gilhart, Cecilia Dean, Keith Baptista, Bon Duke, Thom Browne, Alina Cho, Amy Fine Collins, and Baz Luhrmann.
