Ali Forney Center Brings An Oasis To Chelsea Piers

Now a highlight on the summer calendar, the Ali Forney Center held their 5th Annual Oasis summer benefit at Chelsea Piers at the Lighthouse on Wednesday night in Manhattan. Scheduled host Parker Posey had to pull out because she’s filming a Woody Allen movie, but the room was still full of indie spirits out for the summer bash. Looking stars Murray Bartlett and Jonathan Groff filled in for Posey as hosts for the event that raises money to help homeless LGBTQ youth. Spotted: Mickey Boardman, Andrej Pejic, Jeneil Williams, Bevy Smith, Chris Constable, and longtime Center executive director Carl Siciliano. The crowd took in an epic performance by RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Trinity K. Bonet, who channeled Whitney Houston “singing” her greatest hits. You don’t get that at a UNICEF gala…

Update! We want to keep Bevy Smith happy so she reminded us via Twitter that she and Fashion Queen’s Miss Lawrence and Derek J were the hosts. The Looking boys served as special guests of the evening. Everybody happy now?
