10 Superchic Looks From The Tony Awards

Last night’s red carpet at The Tonys look more like a runway show than an award show, non?  Broadway stars, Hollywood celebs, and and mods pulled out all of the stops on the fashion front with killer frocks (there was an equal division between minis and maxis) from some of the most recognizable designers in the biz, making it perhaps the most glamorous red carpet of this year’s award season. To wit: Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Balenciaga, and Oscar de la Renta, plus a whole lot of Zac Posen, as The New York Times’ Vanessa Friedman notes. Who’s behind this increased level of chic? Anna Wintour and KCD, which were both approached by show execs to “step up” the televised event’s style level, according to The Times.
