Givenchy Spring 2015

by Paige Reddinger

Ooh la la! When Riccardo Tisci is on fire, he is really on fire. This season oozed sex appeal and tough girl chic. There were leather pants, thigh-high open-toe boots, suede vests, corset-like tops, and leather gladiator dresses. A white coat with black trim that closed the show was simply to die for. In fact, all of those coats were stunners.

While some of the zigzag lines throughout the show were said to be inspired by pinball machines, they looked downright medieval, and the white lace dresses (on Cara Delevingne) or a very thin lace trimmed blouse (on Fei Fei Sun) had the delicacy of undergarments from bygone eras. Speaking of lace, let’s have a moment for the way a sheer black lace dress fell just barely over those sultry tall leather thigh-high heels. Killer. The suede vests will be absolute must-haves come Spring. Then, there were the crosses that came on T-shirts (aka, money makers) that suggested Tisci’s woman is a crusader (but just for fashion, darlings). Dear Riccardo, count us in.
