Was that someone doing a pirouette on Madison last week? On March 20th, nine retailers on Madison Avenue such as Kate Spade,Bally, and Tory Burch hosted “Shop With Dancers” for On Your Toes on Madison Avenue, where members of the New York City Ballet such as Sara Mearns, Megan Fairchild, and Savannah Lowery joined shoppers to benefit NYCB’s Toe Shoe Fund, as a year in pointe shoes costs the company $600,000. This year celebrates NYCB’s 50th anniversary at Lincoln Center. Madison Avenue paid homage with windows of costumes from productions of Swan Lake, Jewels, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream on display. The initiative raised an estimated $40,000 for the company and was presented by the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District.
