Stuart Weitzman Celebrates The Legwrap Capsule Collection At Lafayette

by Paige Reddinger

Last night, Stuart Weitzman held a chic dinner at Lafayette in Noho to celebrate the brand’s new limited edition Legwrap capsule collection. The proceeds from the collection will benefit Dr. Marsha Moses’ cancer research at The Folkman Institute in Boston. The shoes, which retail for $498, come in four colors: red suede, yellow suede, denim, and gold. The shoes will be available at the label’s Madison Avenue boutique in New York City and the Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverly Hills, as well as on StuartWeitzman.com.

Chicsters like Leigh Lezark, Chelsea Leyland, and Tali Lennox all showed up to support the brand, each wearing their very own sexy legwrap heels. Plus, editors like WSJ.’s David ThielebeuleMarie Claire’s Kyle AndersonELLE’Danielle PrescodHarper’s Bazaar’Kerry Pieri and Chrissy Rutherford, Glamour’Sophia Chabbott showed up to support the brand. Stuart Weitzman’s CMO Susan Duffy and CEO Wayne Kulkin showed up along with Mr. Weitzman. “It’s very rare that we have Stuart in town, and so we thought that alone was a reason to celebrate,” Duffy told the crowd. “We’re not just celebrating the sexy shoes, but really the man behind the brand who built this incredible vision.”

Weitzman, however, diverted attention to the cause and credited the fashion industry with raising awareness and funds for women’s cancer. “We [the fashion industry] have kind of adopted women’s cancer; to cure them, to be aware of them, to solve the problems at risk like breast cancer and ovarian cancer,” said Weitzman. “Marsha Moses has one of the best foundations for it. We work with others as well; several times we have created collections [for causes], and I love that, because it inspires me to make something that people will really splurge for.” Meanwhile, over a delectable dinner of seared scallops and steak, Kulkin discussed the brand’s enormous global expansion and how they’ve managed to build their haute status in so many markets across the globe. The Stuart Weitzman phenom rages on!
