Natasha Lyonne will host the CFDA Awards on November 7 

Emmy Award-winning actress Natasha Lyonne has been confirmed to host the star-studded CFDA Awards this coming Monday. On the evening, she’ll also be joined by co-hosts Joseph Altuzarra, Gabriela Hearst, Aurora James, Lazaro Hernandez, and Jack McCollough. Today, the organization announced that Bradley Cooper, Kerry Washington, Amy Schumer, Christina Ricci, Bella Hadid, and Trevor Noah are amongst the evening’s presenters. Christina Ricci will present the American Womenswear Designer of the Year award. Trevor Noah will announce the American Menswear Designer of the Year award, and the American Accessory Designer of the Year will be presented by Joel Kim Booster. Keke Palmer will reveal the American Emerging Designer of the Year winner. Bradley Cooper will give this year’s Fashion Icon award to Lenny Kravitz. Amy Schumer will present SKIMS with the Innovation Award presented by Amazon, which will be accepted by Kim Kardashian, Jens Grede, and Emma Grede. Law Roach will receive his Stylist Award from Kerry Washington.Anna Wintour will present Andrew Bolton with the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert. Bella Hadid will present Chrome Hearts with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement award, which will be accepted by Laurie Lynn and Richard Stark. Former CFDA president Stan Herman will present Jeffrey Banks with the Special Anniversary Award. The Board of Trustee’s Award, posthumously presented to Virgil Abloh, will be accepted by the late designer’s wife Shannon Abloh. The event will take place at Casa Cipriani.

Aurora James announces new memoir, WILDFLOWER 

Random House Publishing Group is set to publish WILDFLOWER, a memoir by designer and founder of the Fifteen Percent Pledge Aurora James. The Canada-born fashion force, whose sustainably-minded luxury accessories brand Brother Vellies is rooted in furthering traditional African design practices and supporting artisans, has dedicated her efforts to supporting Black-owned businesses since launching the aforementioned initiative in 2020. (On Instagram, James proudly updated her followers that the Fifteen Percent Pledge is currently in the process of shifting $10 billion in annual revenue to small businesses across the nation.) In a release, the publisher said that the memoir is an “extraordinary story of struggle and perseverance, from a complicated upbringing in Toronto and Jamaica marred by arrest, abuse, and every roadblock imaginable, to finding her calling as an internationally award-winning designer and activist for social change.” James will also be honored tonight in NYC at the annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
