Kevin Martinez to Oversee InStyle Publications at Time Inc.

Time Inc. is welcoming a new face to oversee two of its fashion books: Kevin Martinez, who’s been named vice president, group sales director at InStyle and Style Watch. Martinez, who recently served as publisher and chief revenue officer of Maxim is taking over for Patrick Connors, who will leave his position on August 24 to pursue “new opportunities.” Martinez will report to Ron King, vice president, fashion, multicultural and shelter of Time Inc. “Kevin’s access, relationships and industry knowledge are unparalleled. As we continue to extend our commitment to fashion and the InStyle and StyleWatch brands, I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Kevin’s partnership. With seasoned experience, Kevin knows the fashion business inside and out,” said King. “I want to thank Patrick for his leadership and hard work. He has accomplished a great deal for InStyle.

The glossy has served as the largest circulation–at the highest subscription price paid–and has been ranked the #1 newsstand seller for 18 consecutive years, according to AAM 2H, 2015 Publisher reports. Before his tenure at Maxim, Martinez served as publisher of Details where he was responsible for one of the fastest turnarounds in Condé Nast history (major) and before that was publisher of ELLE. He’s also served in other senior roles at Harper’s BAZAAR, Esquire and The New York Times, among other brands. Quite the resume, indeed! “I am excited to join Ron and his team as we grow the endemic fashion business at the iconic InStyle and StyleWatch,” said Martinez on his new role. “I’m also delighted to become a part of the Time Inc. family during this transformative time.”
